Every model in TEC-CoWork is served through the TEC AI gateway. You do not add API keys, and there is no per-provider setup — signing in is all it takes.

Why there are no API keys

Most AI tools ask you to paste a key from OpenAI or Anthropic. TEC-CoWork does not, deliberately:
  • Cost stays visible. Usage is attributed to your TEC-CoWork account rather than scattered across personal provider accounts.
  • Data handling stays in one place. One gateway, one set of terms, one region.
  • Nothing to rotate. No keys sitting in config files on laptops.
You will not find a “connect your own provider” screen. That is by design, not a missing feature.

Choosing a model

Open the model picker at the bottom of the composer. Models differ in three ways that matter day to day: The picker marks which models accept image attachments. If you attach a screenshot to a model that cannot read images, it will tell you it cannot see it — switch to one marked for image input and send again.

The list changes

The available models are read from the gateway each time you sign in, so new models appear without an app update. If you have heard about a model that is not in your picker, sign out and back in before assuming it is unavailable.
